We did not use a tour guide. We found the museum very easy to follow on our own. Really, you want to take in this place at your own pace. What might strike you as important, may not be the same as someone else. Also, the displays can be very emotionally compelling and you might want to take your time with that. Often a tour doesn't allow you to do that.
Q:
wheres nearest airport to fly into from the uk?

Atlanta is a 2 hour drive from Birmingham.
Q:
How much does it cost
A:
It was 10 or 15 dollars per adult. Well worth the money.
