When I saw that Leslie Odom Jr. was doing a show at the Schermerhorn I knew we had to go. It was his Christmas show and I was hoping to hear him sing Sam Cooke, but really didn’t care as I just want…Full review by Patty B

Beautiful ambience, kind of solemn but entertaining and quite educative. Highly recommended to tourists like me. KudosFull review by Nmababy

Hello Denette, There is no dress code at Schermerhorn Symphony Center, and we're not aware of a dress code for this specific event. We would suggest business casual, but it's entirely up to you!
Looking for suggestions, ideas on clothing options appropriate for the symphony. Taking into consideration the season and style of music to be performed. Going to see the music of Prince, starring Marshall Charloff. It is scheduled for November 8th. This will be my first time to attending a symphony hall and I want to make sure that I'm not under dressed. The only dress I own is a black knee length. I've worn it once. To my husband's funeral. Don't think I will ever wear it again. So, I'm thinking about skinny jeans or maybe palazzo pants. I love beautiful clothes but, rarely buy them because I spend most of the time in work clothes. The tickets are a special treat to myself and who knows how long it will be before I do something like this again. If anyone has any suggestions please help this old lady out!

I have been several times for different events. Since you are going to hear the music of Prince, I think you would be comfortable wearing something more casual. I have worn jeans and dress pants and was not over or under dressed. Depending on the music venue you can wear what you want. At the blue grass venue there were folks in shorts. As a rule of thumb the more classical and the later the performance the more formal the event. If want to wear the black dress, you would fit in and if you wore the jeans to the Prince music, I would be surprised if anyone would think you are under dressed. Since you are concerned about being self conscious, I would recommend going more formal.
