There's an intriguing and varied collection to be viewed here, some of which is of a surprising age. Well presented with lots of informative placards. A great place to spend a few hours.Full review by Doc22407

It would appear that the Burrell Collection is closing this month (October) for a major refurbishment because of problems with the building and the danger therefore to some of the exhibits. The year 2020 has been mentioned for completion. My advice would be to phone the Burrell and they will tell you what is happening which means you will have the correct information.

You have already received excellent advice from other reviewers - my friends and I were in Glasgow for only two nights and we visited the Burrell collection and the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Both are worth a visit - try to do the Burrell collection because it will be closing soon for about 4 years for a complete refurb. Start early and you can do each in half a day and leave a little time for exploring Glasgow and a little shopping. The 'round robin' underground is excellent and everyone very friendly - you will get good advice from your hotel too. Enjoy!

Hi portsmouth10 You can get a train from Central Station to Pollokshaws West. There are four trains an hour. It is quite a long walk through the park to reach the museum, so check the map at the station and the entrance to Pollok Country Park to make sure you know the way. Further details at the Burrell pages of the Glsgow Life website.
